Travelodge opening

Today, I had the privilege to welcome Travelodge to Stirling City Centre, by opening their new £6 million hotel!

The hotel will employ 26 people in Stirling and will be managed by John Campbell, who at 23 is the youngest Travelodge manager in the UK.

Revitalising our dying City Centre: Speech

In a Commons debate I spoke on the state of our High streets, making particular reference to King Street in Stirling City Centre. This is the main throughfare to the Castle, yet appears barren to tourists. 

RBS Branch to remain open until November

The RBS branch on Bannockburn High Street is to remain open until the 12th of November, following meetings with Stephen Kerr MP. On this date, the RBS branch in the Thistles Centre will reopen for business.

City Region Deal heads of terms signed!

Today, the heads of terms for the Stirling City Region Deal have been signed! The Deal will bring £90mil of funding to the Stirling area, and will provide funds for a Aquaculture Innovation Hub, an International Environment Centre, and the new National Tartan Museum!

Board of Trade Meeting: Stirling

Stirling was the location for the first board of trade meeting in Scotland last week as Liam Fox, Secretary of State for International Trade convened the meeting in Stirling Castle. The board of trade was re-established last year, but has been in existence  since 1696.
