Bridge of Allan appears to be regaining a school, under plans announced today which would see Beaconhurst re-open under the aegis of Fairview International Schools. The plans would mean Beaconhurst re-opens as a junior school initially, before expanding to include a secondary and nursery school.
Fairview is described as a leading International Baccalaureate World School which specialises in intensive music and Mandarin Chinese lessons. They have collaborated with Sheffield Hallam University in the past.
Plans to re-open the school are ongoing.
Stephen Kerr MP said:
"It was a massive loss to Bridge of Allan when Beaconhurst closed down last year. I am hugely encouraged by this news, and I hope that the plans come to fruition and Bridge of Allan gains a new top-level place of education.
I look forward to hearing more about the deal struck for all those concerned."
