Getting out and about

One of my favourite jobs as MP is to get out into Stirling Constituency, to meet people, businesses, organisations, and institutions. By hearing from these groups, I can best serve Stirling as the MP, and bring Stirling's case to Westminster.

Revealing the John Allan stones

A wonderful privilege to speak and then take part in the unveiling of the John Allan stones in The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum today! I joined Provost Christine Simpson and Elder Jeffrey R.

Stirling Armed Forces Day

A beautiful day in Stirling to celebrate our armed forces of the past, present, and future! This year's Armed Forces Day was excellently attended as usual, showing the scale of support for our forces.

Stirling Albion and Safestanding

Fantastic to meet General Manager Andy Kennedy at Stirling Albion FC's Forthbank ground to discuss opportunities for Albion, and what the club thinks of the Safestanding debate.

Travelodge opening

Today, I had the privilege to welcome Travelodge to Stirling City Centre, by opening their new £6 million hotel!

The hotel will employ 26 people in Stirling and will be managed by John Campbell, who at 23 is the youngest Travelodge manager in the UK.

Callander Community Hydroelectricty

Fantastic to visit the Hydroelectricity project at Callander, to see the one of the first community-run hydro plants in the UK! Frank Park and Paul Prescott from the trust gave me a tour of the facilities.

Dunblane Museum

I visited the Dunblane to deliver the Hansard record of the debate on Local Museums, in which I spoke to outline the importance of museums such as the one in Dunblane.

Cononish Gold Mine

A fantastically interesting visit to the Cononish Gold Mine at Tyndrum, which right now contains up to £200 million worth of gold! Thank you to Scotgold's Chris Sangster and local Cllr Jeremy McDonald for showing me around.

Better Playparks campaign

Stirling MP Stephen Kerr has this week hit out at the state of the area's play parks. He wants more to be done to stamp out antisocial behaviour in play areas and has called for additional spending on play equipment.
